Wednesday 27th July
Kevin Hunt – Soap Sculptures
Using nothing more than a bar of soap, you will learn a range of carving techniques and create beautiful objects to treasure.

Sarah Jay – Dinosaur World
Create your own dinosaur diorama;invent a world for dinosaurs to live in. Bring it alive using your imagination
until it almost looks real! Aaah!!!!

Sarah Jane Richards – Banksy Style Canvases
Create stunning graffiti canvases in the iconic style of Banksy. Monkeys with bananas, girls with balloons – create
your own art using graffiti stencilling techniques.

It’s a wrap so wrap it up! Design and create your own fantastic wrapping paper, cards and gift tags. In this fun
workshop you’ll learn to make a printing block to make your own unique repeat pattern.

Design and create a hand puppet, using an old jumper, felt and fleece! You can even design clothing for your creature
using print making techniques.

Make your own personal crest using exciting collage techniques. You will use recycled images from magazines and books, and
you can bring your own images, to make a really individual design.

Become inspired, use clay and a range of techniques to create an amazing pot. It could have three handles, a lid
with feet or eyes looking out of it! NB. Pots will be fired and returned at a later date.

The Big Draw 2011
Thursday 27th October
Drop in between
10am – 12pm and 1pm – 3pm
This year it really is a Big Draw with a special Chapel Gallery Art in the Park Event (or an indoor venue if it rains). Meet artist and Art Club facilitator Kevin Hunt, at Coronation Park at 10am and create enormous drawings. Take digital images and use them to create fantastic artworks to be displayed at the Chapel Gallery.
Youth Open 2011
Exhibition: My Best Work
12 November 2011 – 7th January 2012
Age 5 –17? This is a fantastic opportunity to submit
your artwork for selection and maybe win a prize. The Chapel Gallery
holds an annual Youth Open Exhibition and would love to
see a recent artwork you have created (2D only).
Requirements: Artworks must be recent, original, created in
any 2D media or relief and no larger than A3.
Application forms: Contact the gallery for specific entry
details and application forms - available from September 2011.
Prizes: Prizes will be awarded at a special preview event.
