EASTER 2010

Wednesday 7th April
Pauline Hughes – Telling Tales

Inspired by the work of contemporary ceramicist Hilke Macintyre you will have the opportunity to design a low relief ceramic panel to illustrate a story or poem.

Friday 9th April
Sarah Jane Richards – Cecily the Caterpillar

Make and decorate your own squiggly caterpillar friend Cecily. Use bright spots and striking strips to give your caterpillar a unique personality! A beautiful fun friend that proves a caterpillars for life not just for art activities!!

Wednesday 14th April
Pauline Hughes – Mad Hatters Tea Party

Be inspired by Alice in Wonderland. Create your own Mad Hatters Teapot, not to be thrown about!

Friday 16th April
Shelly Atton – Crazy Cut Outs

Design an image to represent your favourite TV programme, film, book or computer game. Using the
technique of mosaic bring your design to life with colour and texture.

MAY HALF-TERM 2010

Wednesday 2nd June
Matthew Roby – Monster Mash Up

Draw and build your own classic Hammer Horror character, from Freaky Frankenstein, Deadly Dracula and Hideous Hunchback! Use a variety of junk materials and spray paint to bring your spooky sculpture to life!

Friday 4th June
Gina Cottam – Fun with Felt

Felt is a most flexible and useful material. This workshops will show you how to make felt using merino wool then create it into something you can keep for yourself or give as a special gift.

SUMMER 2010

Sarah Jane Richards – Speak my language

Create your own visual language based on Hieroglyphs and tell a secret story whilst also making a beautiful picture! Make art out of writing with this fun workshop.

Pauline Hughes – I want my Mummy

The Egyptians celebrated death in many different ways. Design and make your own sarcophagus including a figure to fit inside.

Create your own fantastic flying flapper! Based on exotic birds with brightly coloured plumage, these hanging moving flappers are bound to brighten up any room.

See the little fish shine as they shimmer away from the hungry bigger fish! Magical automatons based on the underwater world, these will really bring your artwork to life!

Using a selection of mixed media and inspired by local artist Michael Brennand Wood come along and become your own spider. What would you collect in your web?

Pauline Hughes – Me, Mo, Me……

Working with clay and discover how it can be manipulated. Begin your design with a 2D textured portrait then translate your 2D piece into a 3D form.

Lisa Jane Forrester – The Wizards Workshop

Turn yourself into a Wacky Wizard for the day. Create your own accessories, magic tricks and special box to hide your Wizard’s tricks in.

Sarah Jane Richards – Chinese Dragon

Learn to make a beautiful Chinese Dragon. His flexible body will move up and down and his bright happy face will charm and delight. He is friendly but will still roar... ROAR!

Shelly Atton - Chinese Shadow Puppet Theatre
