The Big Draw – Out of This World!:
Saturday 18th October 2008All are invited to participate in The Big Draw! national event in partnership with The Campaign for Drawing.
Facilitated by professional artist Matthew Roby, participants will be encouraged to design something that you might find in the future.
What about a robot that vacuums? A clock that can turn back time, or a jetpack that allows you to fly – maybe you’ll even have Martians for neighbours!
A real fun day for all the family! – get in touch if you’d like to attend. This event is planned in parallel with this years Youth Open working on the same theme.

Patricia Greaves discusses her work as exhibited in the Objects of Desire group show and explores her continuing art practice working within and around the medium of textiles.
The West Lancashire Youth Open Exhibition 2008 – Out of This World!: 8 November 2008 - 10 January 2009Young People from age 8 – 18 from across the region present a collection of artworks inspired by the theme of invention.
Exhibitors are invited to create their own invention - in 2D or 3D, on card or paper using paints, collage, prints or photography. It could be Robots that makes you breakfast, intergalactic spacecraft fuelled by tomato soup or an automated cubical that dresses you when you step into it! Beat that!
Christmas Fine Art & Contemporary Craft Event 2008: Friday 28 November 2008A highlight in our calendar, this popular annual event is an excellent start to the festive season. Visitors are given the opportunity to purchase unique gifts direct from the maker and, in the evening, they are also greeted with a warming glass of complementary mulled wine, live music, competitions, prizes and a great atmosphere!
Around thirty impressive artists and makers from throughout the UK exhibit their creations for sale at ‘direct from the artist’ prices. Collections include unique jewellery, glass, prints, ceramics, textiles, paintings and more.
