Information
During the tour of the gallery, participants are encouraged to discuss their own ideas concerning the art on display and become critically aware of the intentions of the artist. They develop their understanding of aesthetics and an ability to voice their own opinion.
The second part of the visit involves a hands-on practical session where participants are encouraged to create a piece of artwork inspired by what they have seen and discussed, either through the skills and techniques that are used by the artists or ideas that the artwork is trying to express. All of the sessions are linked to the Art and Design curriculum Key Stage 1, 2 & 3 and where appropriate cross-curricular links are made.
