Knit & Knatter

For absolute beginners or those who have been knitting for years!

Experimental Drawing and Still Life
Matthew Critchley

 

The first of a 6-week course where the artist will guide you through a variety of methods of drawing including experimental mark making, inspiration through music and drawing as part of a group.

 

Dates: Six week course

Time: 1pm – 3pm

Cost: £10.00 each session. £55.00 for the full course including refreshments and materials.

 

Writing Workshops

Bill Dawson

 

First of four writing workshops based on story writing and character development. Bill has a vast amount of experience in writing for a variety of audiences and also performing his own writing. He will have many anecdotes and tall tales. Guest writer Steve Lawson will come along to the 3rd session offering practical tips and exercises.

Creative Movement

Jan Mussman

 

Come along and share some special time with Jan our experienced dance facilitator. This will be an hour of fun, creative movement using ribbons, scarves and some pretty funky music. Activity for all. Children up to age 4 all must be accompanied with an adult.

Cost: Adult £4, Child £2 including refreshments. Adult and 2 children, 2nd child free.

 

Working with Glass

Jane Coyle

 

Artist Jane Coyle will demonstrate and assist you through the stages to cut and design your handmade Sun Catcher. Ready to give to that special someone for Christmas or to keep as a proud accomplishment for yourself.

Beautiful Words

Brian Whitmore

 

Time to learn a new skill. This is the first of four Calligraphy sessions with artist Brian Whitmore. He will not only be teaching you the skills and techniques of writing he will also show how the lettering can be used to enhance boxes, concertina books and bookmarks.

Razzle Dazzle Jewellery

Pauline Parker

 

Pauline first facilitated one of our Knit and Natter sessions in July. We have now invited her back to deliver a full day session where you can create individually designed jewellery to suit your style. Brooches, cuffs, necklaces or bracelets. Come along and just enjoy learning new skills.

Life Drawing Classes

Sarah Jane Richards

 

Students will develop a series of drawing skills based on direct observation from human anatomy. The group will explore drawing techniques and reference art history as well as contemporary practises. Students will create a body of work investigating mark making and drawing techniques.

Knit & Natter

The Chapel Gallery Knit and Natter sessions have grown from strength to strength. This is an opportunity for beginners and experienced knitters to come together in a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere to knit! The ladies in the group have also had work displayed in the Chapel Gallery exhibition space as part of the Interwoven Exhibition and have had a stall with the Hunkie Dorrie Art Market where they have sold items they make.

Bag Design in Felt

Create a beautiful felted bag in the full day workshop. Design a decorative motif by using felting techniques to make your bag really stunning and stand out from the crowd.

Editing Digital Photography

Michael Lowey

 

Having taken many digital photographs have you ever wondered how to take the plunge into editing your images into a creative piece of artwork? These 4 sessions will guide you through the technology of digital prints to make wonderful photographs to wow your friends and family.

 

Dates: Four weekly sessions.

Times: 7pm – 9pm

Cost: £15.00 per session including refreshments.

Participants will need to bring their own:

* Camera

* Laptop (battery fully charged)

* Software (preferably Adobe Photoshop but others can be used)

 

Etching with Glass

Jane Coyle

 

With Christmas coming up take time to make that very special gift. Work with artist Jane Coyle to learn how to design an image and transfer it onto a mirror using a technique called etching. This process can also be used for making coasters.
